La Alameda

La Alameda Mixed-Use

Spanning four blocks with 1.2 million square feet of programmed space, La Alameda is a mixed-use development that connects to the surrounding urban fabric while establishing a distinct architectural character. A series of welcoming plazas is connected by tree-lined pedestrian thoroughfares—or ramblas—enhanced by public art. Monumental brick arches define shaded arcades for retail and dining, while plant-covered glass volumes contain a combination of apartments and condominiums.

The main plaza features a cascading, welcoming water feature surrounded by a 14-story hotel and residential towers that match the scale of the larger city. From there, a landscaped pedestrian zone surrounded by low-rise mixed-use leads to a cultural foundation housed in a historic school. This cultural hub is supplemented by several warehouses converted to maker spaces as well as food truck and dog parks. The development culminates in a block of single-family garden residences with communal amenities, including a pool and playground.
