The Austin Monitor covered the expansion of the city’s Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (ESB-MACC), and the potential for expanded programs that it will offer. The final design completes the semicircular structure with two extensions clad in white brick. A large, central plaza extends toward the lake in a gesture that prioritizes the public space and reaffirms the presence of the ESB-MACC on the lakefront and in urban Austin. Inside, a combination of highly customized facilities as well as modular, flexible spaces respond to the needs of both the present and the future. Check out the full story here.
